It’s not too soon to be wondering who’s hosting the Golden Globes. The answer is: Jimmy Fallon.

NBC announced The Tonight Show host will take on the task of hosting the 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards, airing live on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017 at 8 p.m.

Fallon made it official by tweeting about the gig:

Of course, he followed up with a joke, tying in Donald Trump and the election:

“We’re thrilled to announce Jimmy as host of The 74th Annual Golden Globes,” NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt said in a statement.

This is the most spontaneous and uninhibited award show on television, and Jimmy’s playful, disarming comedic brilliance makes him the ideal host to enhance and elevate the sense of fun and irreverence that’s made the Golden Globes one of the premier events of the entire broadcast year.

Uninhibited is right. The Golden Globes are basically the drunk version of the Oscars so we can only imagine the antics Fallon will get up to.

Fallon has hosted other award shows but this is his first time at the Golden Globes. He’s hosting the MTV Movie Awards, the MTV Video Music Awards and the 62nd Primetime Emmy Awards in 2010.

Ricky Gervais hosted the Golden Globes in 2016 and from 2010-2012. Fallon’s fellow SNL alum Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosted from 2013-2015.
