It’s the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards and Jimmy Kimmel is hosting the big event. In an interview with ABC, Kimmel talked about his excitement in hosting this year and has said that he wants people to feel like the show goes by quickly, saying so many stars just want to hear who won and to then go home. ABC Entertainment President talked about the network’s host choice, explaining:

Jimmy Kimmel is the consummate showman. With Kimmel at the helm, expect to be at the edge of your seat for a bigger, bolder, and better-than-ever Emmy event.

This is not Kimmel’s first time hosting the event as he previously hosted the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2012. Check out his opening monologue from 2012 in the below video.

As far as what he’s planned for this year’s show, he told E! News:

I’m going to walk out onstage. I probably will have some jokes prepared—hopefully people will laugh at them—and then I go right backstage. I have a 2-year-old daughter, so that’s going to complicate things. We’re thinking of maybe spray-painting her gold and handing her out to a celebrity.

In addition to Jimmy Kimmel, tons of other big stars will appear on stage as presenters in addition to those picking up awards tonight. The shows leading the pack with the most nominations this year include Game of Thrones, The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story and Veep. As for the presenters, there are dozens expected to participate and these stars include but are not limited to Joel McHale, Bryan Cranston, Claire Danes, Mandy Moore, Chris Rock, Amy Poehler, and Tony Goldwyn.

Tori Kelly is slated to perform for the In Memoriam segment and Henry Winkler will announce the presentation, paying tribute to the late Garry Marshall.

When talking to the Hollywood Reporter, Kimmel discussed his diet, saying: I do. I don't eat two days a week. And people are fascinated by it but it works. If you cut two days of food out of your life you will lose weight ... Monday and Thursday are my non-eating days, yeah, so today’s one of them. Although I did eat today. (Laughs.) Sometimes I get hungry. (Laughs.) (Photo by Matt Sayles/Invision for the Television Academy/AP Images)
