Billy Bush, who was heard on a 2005 tape joking with Donald Trump as the future presdient made graphic sexual jokes, is married to Sydney Davis Bush. The couple have been married since April 1998 and are parents to three daughters.
Bush was a Today Show anchor, but reached a settlement with NBC and was fired by NBC, due to his role in the 2005 tape. Us Weekly reported that Bush was “devastated and crying” when the tape leaked and is worried that his career is over.
“I am deeply grateful for the conversations I’ve had with my daughters, and for all of the support from family, friends and colleagues. I look forward to what lies ahead,” Bush said in a statement on October 17.
In a May 2017 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, his first since being fired, Bush said he’s planning a comeback. Despite tabloid rumors of trouble between the couple, Bush and Sydney are still together.
“My wife, Sydney, knows the environment and the atmosphere I was in at the time, and she knows very well the person she married,” Bush told the Hollywood Reporter. “She has been very supportive from the very beginning.”
Bush is the nephew of President George H.W. Bush and cousin to President George W. Bush.
Here is a look at Davis and her life with Bush.
1. Davis & Bush Have Been Married for 18 Years
Davis and Bush have been married for 18 years. They tied the knot on April 4, 1998. When the couple lived in Los Angeles, Bush was able to spend time with the family because Access Hollywood didn’t have crazy work hours.
“I don’t live the Hollywood after hours life, I choose the family—always have. That said, all along I have taken the necessary boy’s’ trip skiing or golfing and couple’s getaway to fill the selfish and relationship needs,” Bush told VUE earlier this year.
Davis’ father is Clifford Perry Davis. She has an aunt named Carol Anne Davis. Her uncle, David Ragland Davis, died in October 2011.

2. Bush Said Davis Gave Him a ‘Hall Pass’ to Date Leslie Mann
When Bush was on the Today Show in 2014, he joked that Davis gave him an imaginary “hall pass” to have an affair with his “Orange Crush,” actress Leslie Mann. The only problem is that Mann is married to director/producer Judd Apatow.
“My Orange Crush is, of course, my lovely and beautiful wife of 16 years. What am I, an idiot?” Bush said at first. When pressed to answer, he gave Mann’s name.
3. Bush & Davis Let Their Oldest Daughter Get a Tattoo for Her 18th Birthday
In August 2016, Bush and Davis let their daughter Jose get her first tattoo for her 18th birthday. Bush himself got a tattoo with her. They both have small crosses tattooed on the inside of their wrists.
“This is the most painful process in the world,” Bush said. Co-anchor Tamron Hall liked the idea, saying that the two tattoos give them a special “family bond.”
Bush and Davis have two other daughters, Mary and Lillie.

5. Bush Said He’s ‘Embarrassed’ by His Comments in the 2005 Tape With Donald Trump
Bush told The Hollywood Reporter that he is “embarrassed and ashamed” by the 2005 tape with Donald Trump that was recorded during filming of an Access Hollywood episode.
“Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened eleven years ago – I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along. I’m very sorry,” Bush told THR.
Access Hollywood aired its own story about the tape after it was leaked to the Washington Post.
In the tape, Trump tells Bush about an attempt to have sex with a woman even though she was married. Trump would also have been married to Melania at the time.
“Your girl’s hot as s—, in the purple… Yes! The Donald has scored!… Oh, my man,” Bush is heard telling Trump. Bush laughed throughout the tape.
“This was locker room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course – not even close,” Trump said in a statement after the tape’s release. “I apologize if anyone was offended.”
At the time the tape was made, Bush was already a father of three. The couple’s youngest daughter is now 11 years old.
On his Facebook post, people have left countless negative messages. Many are disappointed that a man with a wife of nearly two decades and three daughters would act that way.
“Just saw the video with you and Donald Trump. You’re as scummy as he is. After everything the two of you said and then you ask the woman to hug Donald and then hug you. You are sickening! You’re just as big as a pig and scumbag as trump is,” one person wrote to Bush.
According to a rumor from Radar Online, Davis was “devastated” by the 2005 tape. “Sydney was so upset and devastated when she heard the tape,” a source told the site.
Another rumor from Page Six claims that Sydney Bush was furious with her husband. Here is what an NBC insider told Page Six:
Billy Bush’s wife, Sydney Davis, was furious about the tape. Not just because of what was said, but because he was stupid enough to put himself in that position. It wasn’t just the . . . vile talk, it’s because he insisted the woman hug him and Trump. It was creepy. She was so furious that she refused to speak with him for a while — and she’s still furious. They are having marriage problems. He didn’t apologize to her for the embarrassment he caused in his statement. And she hasn’t released a statement at all.
However, in his new Hollywood Reporter interview, Bush said his wife was “very supportive from the very beginning” of the scandal.
