SNL Premiere: Who Is Performing and Hosting?

Tonight is the Season 42 premiere of Saturday Night Live, with host Margot Robbie and musical guest The Weeknd.

Tonight’s show will also feature three new players, and an arsenal of election news to use as comedic ammo. Over the summer, Colin Jost and Michael Che made their way to the DNC and RNC where they filmed off-season election coverage. Leslie Jones then traveled to Rio for the Olympics, and Kate McKinnon won an Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her work on the show. All in all, it looks like Season 42 of SNL is shaping up to be one of the funniest seasons yet.

TONIGHT’S HOST: Margot Robbie

TONIGHT’S MUSICAL GUEST: The Weeknd

Suicide Squad host Margot Robbie will be hosting the show, and musical guest The Weeknd will be performing.

What’s new this season? There’s a ton of changes on the horizon. For starters, Taran Killam, Jay Pharoah, and Jon Rudnitsky have all left the cast. Pharoah has been cast in Jamie Foxx’s new Showtime pilot, White Famous, and Killam will be acting in Jason Katim’s Mating. In their spots will be Mikey Day, who’s a writer on the show, Alex Moffatt from Chicago’s Second City, and Melissa VillaseƱor.

Tune in tonight, at 11:29pm ET/PT for the show.
