Fans of The Goldbergs will have to wait another week to see the newest Halloween episode from the show set in 1980-something. That’s because ABC is airing two Halloween specials – It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Toy Story of Terror – in place of its regularly scheduled programming before the final 2016 presidential debate. The next episode of The Goldbergs, titled “Stefan King,” will not air until October 26 at 8 p.m. ET.

In “Stefan King,” Adam (Sean Giambrone) decides to become a horror writer, after being inspired by his favorite author, Stephen King. Meanwhile, Erica (Hayley Orrantia) continues her quest to win Geoff (Sam Lerner) back from Evelyn (Allie Grant).

In a new interview with Hidden Remote, Lerner said that he doesn’t think Geoff is completely over Erica, so there is hope.

“It’s been referenced in the show that he’s spent his entire life being obsessed with her,” Lerner said. “And after time and time and time again of her turning him down, a different girl paid attention to him and he was like you know what, I deserve someone who actually cares about me so he goes with her.”

Here’s the full episode synopsis from ABC:

Adam’s love of Stephen King inspires him to try his hand at horror writing. After learning the monster in Adam’s story is based off Beverly, she forces Adam to stay in on Halloween and rewrite it, hoping he depicts her as a better mother. Meanwhile, Erica is desperate to find a date to the costume dance and forces Barry go with her.
