is finally back for its second season after an action-packed freshman season of 20 episodes. This year, we will get to finally meet
Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) in person, after only seeing his back or his boots during season one. In the season two premiere, which was also the first episode of the show to air on The CW, Superman and Kara (Melissa Benoist) teamed up to save the citizens of National City together. Meanwhile, Kara and the Martian Manhunter (David Harewood) also had to figure out who was in the Kryptonian pod that crash landed on earth at the end of season one.
Despite the channel change, the same creative team is back to oversee the show. Producers Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Ali Adler are still working on Supergirl
. The show was even lucky enough to retain its entire cast and 8 p.m. timelsot. The biggest change is one behind the scenes - after being filmed in Los Angeles, it's now shot in Vancouver, where Berlanti's other
DC Comics shows are made.
