Retired Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson Jr. is currently competing on Dancing With the Stars with pro partner Lindsay Arnold and the duo has entered the semi-finals. Over the course of the season, Johnson’s wife Brittney McNorton has popped into rehearsals and viewers have gotten to see her on the small screen. 1. McNorton Was Working In the Lions’ Office When They Were Dating
According to Daily Entertainment News, McNorton started as an intern for the Detroit Lions in July 2008. She then worked her way up in the company and was working in the front office when she began dating Johnson. McNorton was made promotion manager in February 2014.
2. The Couple Are Newlyweds
McNorton and Johnson became engaged in March 2015 and got married on June 4, 2016. The couple married in Metro Detroit and featured several Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles themed gifts on their registry, according to The Knot.
Johnson’s DWTS pro partner Lindsay Arnold also married in recent years.
3. McNorton Is a Step-Mother
Shallyn Blanton is the reported mother of Johnson’s son Calvin, which means that McNorton is a step-mother. Johnson’s son was present at the couple’s nuptials.
4. Calvin Johnson’s Alleged Baby Mama Previously Filed a Police Report Against McNorton & Johnson
In 2014, TMZ reported that alleged baby mama Shallyn Blanton filed a police report against Johnson and McNorton in May 2014. When Johnson and McNorton showed up for a visit, Blanton claimed this was in violation of their custody agreement as McNorton was not allowed to be present during visits.
5. Johnson’s Wife Is a Scholarly and Educated Woman
Johnson married an educated woman, who graduated in 2008 with a Bachelors degree from Michigan State University. Daily Entertainment News reports that McNorton was also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Public Relations Student Society of America, was secretary of the National Pan-Hellenic Council and she has also been a mentor for Women of Tomorrow.
