WATCH: Carrie Underwood & Brad Paisley’s Opening Performance at CMAs 2016

The first eight minutes of the 2016 CMA Awards tonight were filled with a medley of performances from country artists across the board. From Randy Travis to Reba McEntire, to tonight’s two hosts – Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley – the room was filled with legends.

After the big opening set, Underwood and Paisley delivered their opening monologue, which always starts with a little song they put together. The duo has been hosting the CMAs for nine years in a row.

The two started out by joking about hating politics at the beginning of their opening monologue song. They then talked about all the hillbilly singers participating in the 50th anniversary of the CMAs.

Their song was pretty short and then they went into recognizing some of the big nominees at the show tonight, while still joking about politics. They then talked about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s break up and a cheesy gift basket that the attendees were supposedly going home with at the end of the night.

After a few jokes, the couple sang a jingle, poking fun at Willie Nelson for a made-up product called “Willie Nelson’s Pot-ted Meat.” Tim McGraw and Faith Hill Barbie dolls also made an appearance. Peyton Manning also lent his singing voice from the crowd to participate as well.
