Tom Cruise, who divorced Katie Holmes in 2012, has been linked to several women linked to Scientology over the years. Jennifer Hammon, an actress who hasn’t appeared in anything since 2001, reportedly had a “fling” with Cruise before his marriage to Holmes, according to RadarOnline. Hammon worked as an assistant for Cruise on The Last Samurai and Collateral.

However, their relationship ended after Scientology discovered that she had a lesbian sex scene in a pornographic movie, according to Radar. This news follows a rumor that he was in a serious relationship with an unknown woman.

Here’s what we know so far about Hammon’s relationship with Cruise and Hammon herself.

1. Scientology Leader David Miscavige Reportedly Stepped in to Stop Their Relationship After Learning About an Oral Sex Scene Hammon Filmed

RadarOnline reports that the 54-year-old Cruise and the 43-year-old Hammon had a “secret relationship” before Cruise married Katie Holmes in 2006. Cruise and Hammon grew so close that she became an assistant for him and worked on The Last Samurai and Collateral.

After that though, Scientology leader David Miscavige learned that Hammon made a soft-core pornographic movie called Allyson Is Watching, which included a lesbian oral sex scene. He learned this just after she finished making a Scientology propaganda movie called The Married Couple.

“It was a massive problem,” a former Scientologist told Radar. “Jennifer got into trouble. They thought it embarrassed the church, and humiliated Tom since she was so involved in his world.”

“I don’t know what the criteria was, but I can see why people would not want to be presenting [Jennifer] to [Tom],” former Scientologist Mike Rinder told Radar.

The story of Hammon getting in trouble for her past in the film showed up in a 2013 post on the forum WhyWeProtest.net (note: there is some NSFW content at that link).

2. Before They Split, Cruise & Hammon Attended a Scientology Church Opening in Spain Together

Before they were forced to end their relationship, Hammon and Cruise attended the opening of a Scientology church in Madrid, Spain in 2004. Video of Cruise’s appearance appeared on Tony Ortega’s website. (Ortega is a writer who has tried to expose Scientology.)

Hammon was at that ceremony and Cruise delivered a seven-minute speech in Spanish.

“Jennifer would have been personally selected to be with Tom, and Miscavige would have signed off on her seat at the Madrid expo,” Scientology expert Jeffrey Augustine told Radar Online.

The relationship got so far that Cruise even met Hammon’s family. “I met Tom when he was hosting a family get-together. We played laser tag with his adopted kids. His mom was there, too. They were very nice, and it was a lot of fun,” Hammon’s mother, Sue Hammon, told Radar.

3. Hammon Appeared on Television Throughout the 1990s & Stopped Acting in 2001

Hammon has an IMDb page, which lists appearances in General Hospital, Port Charles, JAG, Star Trek: Voyager and The X-Files. Her last credit as an actress was a 2001 episode of The X-Files and she hasn’t done anything since.

Her IMDb page also lists her as a personal assistant to Cruise on The Last Samurai (2003) and Collateral (2003).

According to Radar Online, Hammon married Cruise’s driver. A forum for ex-Scientologists shows that an issue of a Scientology magazine listed Hammon as marrying Josh Harris in December 2009.

A site called Truth About Scientology lists the public services Hammon has completed for the church, but the list ends in 2003.

4. Cathy Schenkelberg Claimed She Went to an Audition to be Cruise’s Girlfriend & Didn’t Get the ‘Role’ Because She Insulted Him

There are rumors that Scientology foes its best to please Cruise, since he is their highest-profile member. Actress Cathy Schenkelberg claimed to Radar Online in August 2016 that she was even in an audition to be Cruise’s new girlfriend. She didn’t get the ‘role’ because she insulted him during the audition.

“I went into the room and just like any audition, the camera starts rolling. It was fine, the first few questions and then asked me what do I think of Tom Cruise,” she said. “I shoot from the hip – I’m a Midwest girl, I’m from a huge family and I just went, ‘Ugh, I don’t like him. I’m not a fan. Risky Business is OK and I was really upset that he and Nicole [Kidman] broke up. I really liked her and kind of find him to be a bit of a narcissist, insecure, kind of babyish.’ I don’t know … I spewed it out.’”

She also told the Daily Mail that she said during the audition that Cruise is a “narcissistic baby.”

Schenkelberg said that she knew Cruise through the church and after sharing her thoughts of him, she felt she was being pushed out of the religion. She left in 2009 and lost her life savings to the church.

“I lost my home, I lost my 401K, my IRA, my equity, everything! I’m on food stamps and I’m told I’m a degraded being,” Schenkelberg told Radar. “All this time I was so young and now, almost two decades later, I can’t get back the time. It hurts more than the million dollars.”

5. Cruise Has a New, Mysterious Girlfriend

In October, Us Weekly reported that Cruise is back in a serious relationship that has lasted several months. However, the report didn’t reveal the name of the woman, who he met while filming The Mummy in London.

Us Weekly called the British woman “very normal and pretty” and is letting her live at his rental cottage outside London.

“They go on bike rides through the countryside. Sometimes Tom’s sister would join them,” the source said.
