Now that tickets are available to buy for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Disney and Lucasfilm will be ramping up their promotional efforts to make sure people turn out to see the first stand-alone Star Wars movie. By doing so, they have practically shown us a majority of the Gareth Edwards-directed film. The new partnership with Twitter, announced today, will reveal even more about the film.
Twitter revealed today that they will live stream a Q&A session with the Rogue One cast, which is led by Felicity Jones, Diego Luna and Ben Mendelsohn. Twitter also teased “never before seen content” from the film. The streaming event will begin at 1 p.m. ET on Friday, December 2 right here.
After that footage is shown, the Q&A session will be start from a “surprise location.” Jones, Luna, Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk and Riz Ahmed will be joined by Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy and director Edwards. People Magazine deputy editor J.D. Heyman is moderating the session.
The partnership with Twitter was announced just a day after ticket sales started for the movie. It doesn’t open until December 16, with screenings starting on the night of December 15.
Disney also released a new TV spot, which appears to show the back of Grand Moff Tarkin. Tarkin was played by the late Peter Cushing in A New Hope and by Wayne Pygram in Revenge of the Sith.
