Just two minutes into the show, host Carson Daly started announcing the safe contestants, starting with Sundance Head from Team Blake Shelton. America also saved, from Alicia Keys' team, We McDonald. After a short commercial break, Blake Shelton took the stage to perform with his remaining contestants so far on the show. Soon after the performance, more contestants were revealed as being safe ... and the next performer safe from elimination was Ali Caldwell from Miley Cyrus' team. America also saved Billy Gilman from Adam Levine's team. Alicia Keys later took the stage with her teammates to perform before getting into more results. Next revealed as moving on in the competition was Austin Allsup from Team Blake, followed by Brendan Fletcher from Adam Levine's team. Next up was a performance from season 9 winner Jordan Smith, who performed the holiday song "O Holy Night." At the end of Smith's performance, Smith was presented with an award from his former coach Adam Levine for achieving over 7 million singles sold in the past year. Following this moment, Christian Cuevas from Alicia Keys' team was announced as safe, as was Courtney Harrell from Blake Shelton's team. The last person announced as safe was Josh Gallagher from Adam Levine's team. This left Aaron Gibson and Darby Walker, both from Team Miley, in the bottom two, having to perform for America's Instant Save. Walker performed the song "Your Song" for the Instant Save and Gibson sang "Budapest." In the end, it was Gibson who earned the Instant Save from America, resulting in Walker's elimination.
