It turns out that the World Series doesn’t just have an impact on the network that airs it. Rather than air a new episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit tonight against a dramatic game between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians, the network has opted to run a repeat. In fact, an SVU repeat is also replacing a new episode of Blindspot. The next new episode of SVU will air on Wednesday, November 9 at 9 p.m. ET.

NBC’s decision to air repeats was announced by executive producer Julie Martin. She clarified to fans that NBC was “protecting” its shows by not airing any new episodes tonight.

Instead, NBC will air the episodes “Terrorized” in place of Bloodline and “Making a Rapist” in place of the previously scheduled new SVU episode.

The episode that was scheduled to air on November 2 is titled “Bad Rap.” The episode description reads:

The CEO of a record label is questioned by police, and so is his protégé, because they may be linked to an assault involving a transgender student.

Wyclef Jean is a special guest star in the episode.

SVU is in its 18th season and stars Mariska Hargitay, Raul Esparza, Kelli Giddish, Ice-T and Peter Scanavino.
