Who Won ‘Dancing With the Stars’ 2016 Last Night?

On Dancing With the Stars last night, the winner for season 23 was awarded the mirrorball trophy. Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy took the win as they were cheered on by all the fellow cast members. This is Chmerkovskiy’s second time winning the mirrorball on the show. He previously has won with Rumer Willis as his partner.

In addition to Hernandez winning, it was announced that she will be going on tour with the official DWTS tour. Previous stars to join the tour have included Rumer Willis and Alfonso Ribeiro.

On the finale episode last night, each couple performed a fusion routine that they had less than 24 hours to learn. Fortunately, each of the finalists carried out their routines well and without fail. Unfortunately, there was one accident when a cameraman fell on stage.

Pro dancer Val Chmerkovskiy rushed to the cameraman’s aid as Jana Kramer performed her song “Circles.” The cameraman ended up being okay and the show continued.

Dancing With the Stars returns to ABC in March 2017 with a whole new round of celebrity contestants.
