Meet Gary, Carrie Fisher's Dog
Carrie Fisher's favorite companion during the last days of her life wasn't a person. He's a dog. From television interviews to the red carpet to Star Wars
conventions, there's always a good chance that Fisher is accompanied by her dog, Gary. Gary is Fisher's therapy dog and is a French bulldog.
Fisher was fighting for her life after a heart attack during the end of a flight from London to Los Angeles. Her brother, Todd Fisher
, told Reuters
that Fisher was in an intensive care unit. Fisher's family told People Magazine
that she died on December 27.

The 60-year-old Fisher has never been shy about her health struggles. She was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at 29 years old. She's also struggled with alcoholism and drug use. She has written about her life in the books Wishful Drinking
and 2016's The Princess Diarist
. She also wrote the novel Postcards from the Edge
, which is loosely based on her life and was turned into a Meryl Streep-starring movie in 19990.
