Michael Buble has been taking time off from his music career to tend to his adorable three-year-old, Noah, who has been battling liver cancer. In November, last month, Buble and his wife publicly addressed Noah’s illness via Facebook in the following statement:
We are devastated about the recent cancer diagnosis of our oldest son Noah who is currently undergoing treatment in the US. We have always been very vocal about the importance of family and the love we have for our children. Luisana and I have put our careers on hold in order to devote all our time and attention to helping Noah get well. At this difficult time, we ask only for your prayers and respect for our privacy. We have a long journey in front of us and hope that with the support of family, friends and fans around the world, we will win this battle, God willing.
The announcement came on November 4, 2016.

The Bubles live in Vancouver, but will not travel for the holiday. Even so, The Huffington Post reports that Noah will be home for Christmas, in that he will be well enough to spend it with his family, so any unfortunate rumors you may have heard about Noah’s health can be ruled out. Michael Buble was born in Burnaby, British Columbia and still has relatives there who he sees. In addition, Buble’s wife’s family is reported to by flying in for the holiday.
3. The Bubles Have Two Sons
Michael Buble and his wife Luisana Lopilato have two sons – Noah and Elias, who is still just a baby. In a previous interview with E! News, Buble talked about the impact being a father has made on his life, saying:
I think being a dad gives you perspective. I think really being a parent is a massive blessing. It’s allowed me to understand deeply that what I do for a living—creating music and art and getting to be a part of a fragrance or a movie—is my job. It isn’t what defines me. What defines me is I’m Noah and Eli’s dad.
Elias Buble was born in January 2016.
4. Several Other Illnesses Were Thought to Be the Culprit Before Cancer
According to Us Weekly, “after an exhaustive examination, they ruled out mumps and suggested two possibilities: a throat infection or mononucleosis” as possibilities of Noah’s core issue. This was at a hospital in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
When an ultrasound confirmed that Noah had liver cancer, the family flew to the United States for another opinion.
5. Michael Buble’s Sister-In-Law Has Spoken Out About Noah’s Cancer Battle
In an interview with Gente Magazine, Daniela Lopilato, Michael Buble’s sister-in-law, spoke about her nephew’s battle with cancer. She stated that:
If God wanted it to be discovered that way, it’s because he wants to save Noah. Cancer is a horrible illness, but we have faith in Noah being able to overcome this. We know he will. The time to start a long and very difficult treatment has come, but it’s got to be done.
Lopilato then added:
They say children are normally strong to put up with chemotherapy, and my nephew is a warrior. He has the innocence of children and that is good. He doesn’t understand too much what is happening. The love people are showing is helping us to see things with optimism, and we have a lot of faith.
