Taylor Kinney is perhaps best known for playing Lieutenant Kelly Severide on the hit series Chicago Fire, and for five years the actor dated one of the most famous singers in the world. That’s right– from 2011 until July of this year, Kinney dated ‘Poker Face’ singer Lady Gaga. The couple became engaged on Valentine’s Day 2015, but called it quits in early July.
Kinney, who is also known for his role of Mason Lockwood on The Vampire Diaries, first met Gaga on the set of her 2011 music video, You and I, in which he played her love interest. The two began dating after filming the video, previously split in 2012, and then got back together. In February 2015, Gaga took to Instagram to announce that they were engaged.
In a recent interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Gaga discussed her relationship with Kinney, hinting at what could have caused the separation. “I think women love very hard. We love men. We just love with everything we have. And sometimes I don’t know that that love is met with the type of dignity that we wish it would be met with. You know, we’re not trying to make you less of a man. We just want you to love us as deeply and as wholesomely and as fully as we love you.”
Recently, rumors have surfaced that Kinney is now dating a 26-year-old former Atlantic City bottle-service waitress named Alanna DiGiovanni. According to Page Six, DiGiovanni is from South Philadelphia, and now works in radiology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. The outlet reports that DiGiovanni has already visited Kinney in Chicago, and that the two attended the Formula One race and Taylor Swift concert in Austin together.
According to her LinkedIn, DiGiovanni has been working as a radiologic technologist at Thomas Jefferson since April, and received her Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree at the Community College of Philadelphia. It’s unclear how Kinney and DiGiovanni met, and their romance has not been confirmed. Despite the rumors, fans are still wondering if there’s any possibility Kinney and Gaga will reunite.
Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other.
