Ben Affleck, who will be presenting at the Golden Globes on January 8, was recently photographed in Los Angeles with a mysterious blonde. That woman has since been revealed to be Elizabeth Weaver, the founder of a boutique nursing care service in Los Angeles.
On March 14, 2017, Affleck confirmed on Facebook that he completed a stint in rehab, which could explain why he was seen with Weaver in January.
Affleck is currently estranged from his wife, actress Jennifer Garner. The couple have three children together – daughters Violet Anne and Seraphina “Sera” Rose Elizabeth and son Samuel “Sam” Garner. The couple announced plans to divorce in June 2015, but Us Weekly reported that they put their divorce on hold in July 2016. The couple were married for 10 years before they announced their divorce.
Weaver confirmed to Heavy.com that she and Affleck were just friends.
Here’s a look at Weaver’s career and the current status of his relationship with Garner.
1. Weaver Is the Founder of Concierge Nursing Care & Has Cared for ‘High Profile Clients’ in Los Angeles & New York
Weaver is the founder of Concierge Nursing Care, a boutique nursing agency whose services include 24-hour personalized care and in-home detox support for patients recovering from addictions. The agency also provides “sober companion support.”
On the site, Weaver says that she has worked with “the most high profile clients in Los Angeles and New York City over the past decade.”
In a statement on the site, Weaver says of her mission:
“I want to make a difference in people’s lives. I’m unique because I come into this with years of hands-on experience as a private duty nurse and with a world of resources that I can bring in as a team player. I desire to make a valuable contribution to the delivery of quality health care through problem solving, innovation, and providing customized care.”
According to the agency’s contact page, patents can call their phone number 24 hours a day for service. They serve patients in the Los Angeles area.
2. Affleck & Weaver Were Spotted in Beverly Hills on January 5
Weaver and Affleck were first seen together in Beverly Hills on January 5. The Daily Mail published a series of photos from that day, showing them on a sushi lunch date. They were together the entire day.
Page Six later confirmed that the woman in those photos was Weaver.
A representative for Affleck didn’t give Page Six a comment on the photos.
Although the Daily Mail termed his day with Weaver as a “date,” a source told Gossip Cop that Weaver and Affleck are just friends.
3. Affleck Has Struggled With Alcohol Addiction & Reportedly Went Back to Drinking & Gambling Before His Split From Garner
Affleck has struggled with addiction in the past. In 2001, Affleck’s publicist at the time confirmed that he went to rehab to try to lead a life “without alcohol.”
In a 2012 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck said that his father was also an alcoholic.
“His life sort of hit the skids when I was in my teens,” Affleck told THR. “It was difficult. When one’s parent is an alcoholic, it’s hard. It was a little scary and trying, but then he got sober when I was twentysomething, and he’s been sober ever since.”
After Affleck and Garner announced plans for divorce, there were rumors in tabloids that Affleck was back to drinking and had also developed a gambling addiction. TMZ reported that Garner was concerned about him drinking and gambling.
In May 2014, TMZ reported that Affleck was banned from the Hard Rock Casino in Los Vegas because security caught him counting cards. In a Details magazine interview, Affleck said there was some truth to the TMZ report, but said he wasn’t completely banned from the Hard Rock Casino. He was just told not to play blackjack any longer.
“I don’t play any other games of chance. I don’t bet on football games, and I don’t gamble at all, really, outside of that,” he told Details.
4. Weaver Is a Graduate of the University of Alabama & Also Worked as a ‘Sober Companion’ in Beverly Hills
According to Weaver’s LinkedIn page, she attended the University of Alabama, Capstone College of Nursing from 2000 to 2006 and graduated with a B.D. in Nursing. After graduating, she moved to Los Angeles, where she has been working as a private registered nurse since 2007.
Weaver also worked at Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in 2014-2015 and was a sober coach from August 2010 to September 2016 in Beverly Hills and Malibu.
In April 2016, she founded her own agency, Concierge Nursing Care.
5. Affleck & Garner Have Been on ‘Great Terms’ Since Announcing Their Divorce
Since announcing their divorce in 2015, Garner and Affleck have shown the public that the two are still on good terms. In a February 2016 Vanity Fair interview, Garner insisted that it was a “real marriage.”
“It wasn’t for the cameras. And it was a huge priority for me to stay in it. And that did not work,” Garner told the magazine.
“Jen’s great. She’s a great person. We’re on great terms. I just saw her this morning, so that’s the reality that I live in,” Affleck told the New York Times a month after Garner’s interview. He also said he wasn’t angry with Garner for talking about their marriage publicly.
“I think becoming a father makes you see the world differently and it’s good,” Affleck told The Guardian in January 2017.
The couple still haven’t finalized their divorce. In June 2016, Entertainment Tonight reported that they are haven’t even filed for divorce yet.
“Jen mentioned that the divorce was going through very soon, and then a few weeks ago, things changed,” a source close to Garner told Us Weekly in July 2016. “It does not seem to be moving in that direction.”
