Jimmy Kimmel and Matt Damon have carried on a fun feud over the years and things have really heated up in the weeks leading up to Kimmel’s Oscars gig. So, how did this feud begin in the first place? Years ago, Kimmel dated comedienne Sarah Silverman and fans may remember when Silverman came out with a little song titled “I’m Fucking Matt Damon”. Kimmel later retaliated with a skit, teaming up with Damon’s famous BFF Ben Affleck.
Though many believe that it was Silverman’s fake affair with Damon that kicked off the feud, many date the beginning back to 2005. Even though Kimmel and Damon are actually good friends, Hollywire reports that, in 2005, Kimmel claimed to have run out of time on his show Jimmy Kimmel Live and pretended to bump Damon from the show’s lineup. Kimmel stated, “Apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time.” Check out the funny clip below.

Kimmel and Damon have even engaged in “couples therapy” to help mend their quarreling, but, by the looks of Kimmel’s Instagram profile, the feud carries on. We’ll have to wait and see what Kimmel has to say about Damon on stage at tonight’s 2017 Oscars … Just a couple hours before the Oscars, Kimmel sat down with E! News’ Jason Kennedy and said that he cried a lot while watching the movie The Great Wall because Matt Damon was on the screen a lot. He then said he will try his hardest to ruin the Oscars for Damon.
