There were plenty of movie trailers shown during Super Bowl LI, but was one of them for Star Wars: The Last Jedi? Sadly, the answer was no. Disney didn’t have a shocking surprise for us in store.

Trailer-Track notes that Disney had two trailers being shown, but these were Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2. The Guardians teaser spot was shown before the game began.

We’re not expected to see the first footage of The Last Jedi until the Spring, as Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said during an event for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

A source also told Star Wars News Net that there will be no Super Bowl trailer for The Last Jedi. The site also reports that Disney is working on a behind-the-scenes reel, which could be released before Star Wars Celebration Orlando in April. The reel would include the first scenes from The Last Jedi shown publicly.

Celebration Orlando, which runs from April 13-16, is expected to be where the first trailer for The Last Jedi will be shown.

Disney announced the title The Last Jedi on January 23. The film will be the eighth episode in the main Star Wars saga with the Skywalker family and is written and directed by Rian Johnson.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
