In October 2016, Kim Kardashian-West was robbed at gunpoint in Paris, bound and had her mouth taped shut. In the above photo, Kardashian rocks a $4 million ring from husband Kanye West, who gifted her the piece of jewelry. Unfortunately, this was one of the jewelry items stolen from Kardashian during the robbery. The Mirror reports that a jewelry box of Kardashian’s was taken and another stolen item was a necklace with her son Saint’s name written in diamonds. In her statement to police after the robbery, Kardashian said that:
My Vuitton jewelry box was near my bag and, at that time, he said something to the other individual, shouting. In my jewelry box, there were two bracelets by Cartier, all with diamonds, a necklace by Jacob all in gold and diamond, diamond earrings by Lorraine Schwartz, and the others were by Yanina.
Kardashian also stated:
I also had just a cross-shaped diamond, by Jacob. A watch by Rolex all in yellow gold. There were two rings in yellow gold. I think they robbed me for $5 million. They didn’t rob my cash. They took my iPhone 6 … and the Blackberry.

In addition to taking a hit of an estimated $10 million in jewelry from the Paris robbery, Kardashian has had a lot of expenses. She’s had to beef up security, which definitely costs money. And, at the end of 2016, she and Kanye West reportedly dished out $10 million in renovations for their home in Hidden Hills, California, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Previously, Kanye West was in the media for posting tweets, saying that he was actually in debt. West tweeted:
I write this to you my brothers while still 53 million dollars in personal debt … Please pray we overcome… This is my true heart … My dreams brought me into debt and I’m close to seeing the light of day.
