Sara Haines, the former Today Show and Good Morning America anchor and current co-host on The View, is married to lawyer Max Shifrin.
Haines and Shifrin have two songs together, a son named Alec Richard Shifrin, who was born in March 2016, and a daughter named Sandra Grace Shifrin, who was born in December 2017. The couple met online and later tied the knot in the Bahamas.

1. Shifrin & Haines Met Through OKCupid

In 2014, Haines, 39, talked to Brides about how she first met Shifrin. She said she used the online dating site OKCupid “because, well, it was free!” With the help of her brother and best friend, she created a profile and she later received a message from Shifrin. She had to cancel their originally scheduled date, but they decided to meet for drinks that night. It ended up being a group date, because her brother and his boyfriend also showed up at the same bar.
“Max and I ended up hitting it off pretty quickly,” Haines recalled. “Our drink turned into dinner, which turned into after-dinner drinks. As I always say when people ask if I knew he was the one — I didn’t ‘know’ anything (I can barely decide what I want for dinner at night), but I did know I wanted to see him again.”
A year after that first date, they moved in together. Nine months later, he proposed.
2. Shifrin Is a Lawyer & on a Team Handling Bernie Madoff Lawsuits

Shifrin is a lawyer at the New York firm Baker Hostetler. According to his firm bio, he focuses on “complex commercial litigation” and “has represented large institutions, small businesses, and individual clients across a wide range of industries, and has experience overseeing all aspects of pre-trial litigation.”
At the firm, Shifrin is also on a team as court-appointed counsel for the Securities Investor Protection Act (SIPA) Trustee for the liquidation of Bernie Madoff‘s firm, BLMIS. The effort involves “more than 1,000 lawsuits filed by the SIPA Trustee to recover assets for the benefit of defrauded BLMIS customers.”
3. Haines’ Peppy Personality Even Annoys Her Husband

Haines is best known for her peppy personality and always being a “ray of sunshine” on the set of every show she’s worked on. It’s helped her connect with audiences at Today, Good Morning America and The View, who like to see happy faces in the morning.
In an interview with TV Insider, she said this is definitely her real-world personality. In fact, it sometimes annoys her husband.
“I’ve been this way my whole life, though my husband says it sometimes teeters on annoying,” she told TVInsider.
4. Haines & Shifrin Have a Son Named Alec & a Daughter Named Sandra

Haines and Shifrin are the parents of Alec Richard Shifrin, who was born on March 5, 2016, so he will be celebrating his second birthday very soon! The couple actually announced Alec’s birth using Periscope.

“We did it!!! On March 5th, 2016 we met our little guy Alec Richard Shifrin (named after our dads). He weighed in at 7 lbs. 5 ounces,” Haines added. “We are excited, exhausted, and possibly still in shock, but soaking it all in. Thank you for the encouraging words. It will take a village to raise this little man :).”
Haines later admitted to TV Insider that she tends to overshare… everywhere.
“When I found out I was pregnant, [GMA anchor] Amy Robach was one of the only people I told and I asked her for advice,” Haines told TV Insider. “We’ve been friends for years, and she’s very old school. I was sure she’d say, ‘Don’t talk about it at all. You don’t want people gauging your assignments based on pregnancy.’ Instead, she was like, ‘Oh, my God! Tell everybody! And as soon as you can! Morning TV and babies are the perfect match!’ It was not the answer I was expecting… So now I know what it feels like to pimp a pregnancy!”

5. Shifrin Graduated from Brooklyn Law School

According to his LinkedIn page, Shifrin is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he earned a B.A. in History and Political Science in 2005. In 2010, he earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
While still at Brooklyn Law School, Shifrin was at the U.S. Attorney’s Office as a Student Prosecutor for 11 months. His first job after graduating was as an associate at Fried Frank from 2011 to 2013. After that, he was at Storch Amini & Munves, PC for just over a year. In June 2014, he was hired by Baker Hostetler and has been there ever since.
