When William Shatner let Twitter know that he was going to campaign against Nick Viall in hopes of getting Viall off of Dancing With the Stars, viewers were surprised, confused and very curious. Shatner posted several tweets online about his disdain for Viall and how he hopes that no one votes for the former Bachelor star on DWTS. When Viall heard this news, he expressed his feelings to EXTRA, saying:
It was heartbreaking because I am his biggest fan. Who doesn’t like Captain Kirk? Also a big T.J. Hooker fan — that’s some of his best work. It’s heartbreaking, to be honest. The show must go on. We’re gonna do our best, and it’s up to William to come around or not … Maybe we will have a cup of coffee one day, we will hash out our differences.
Viall’s pro partner Peta Murgatroyd then chimed in, saying that she was going to make Shatner love Viall by the end of the season. And, Viall says that Shatner has an open invitation to come to the show.
So, why does Shatner want Viall to be off the show? Apparently, he was not a fan of some of Viall’s actions when he was on The Bachelorette. For example, many felt negatively about Viall when he revealed on national television that he had sex with star Andi Dorfman during their overnight date.
After all the Twitter drama, Shatner appeared send a peace offering Viall’s way, tweeting this message:
Hey @viallnicholas28 Will you accept this [peace rose emoji]? As a Dad w/ daughters I’m not happy w/ what you’ve done in the past Maybe you’ve matured now?
In addition to the above message, he posted the below tweet.
