Who Is Hosting ‘SNL’ Tonight? 4/15/2017

Tonight is a brand new live episode of Saturday Night Live and Jimmy Fallon is hosting. The former SNL cast member and late-night talk show host is sure to pull in tons of viewers. What’s most interesting about tonight’s episode is that there will not be a time delay on the west coast. The show will air live across the United States at 11:30 p.m. ET, 10:30 p.m. CT, 9:30 p.m. MT, and 8:30 PT, as will several future new episodes. NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt released the following statement about the time shift in showings:

SNL is part of the national conversation. We thought it would be a great idea to broadcast to the West and Mountain time zones live at the same time it’s being seen in the East and Central time zones.

Jimmy Fallon was a cast member on SNL from 1998 to 2004 and was often known as being a part of the Weekend Update. Currently, Michael Che and Colin Jost are the faces of the Weekend Update, which will air four separate weekly, primetime shows on NBC, starting August 10, 2017.

For tonight’s musical guest, Harry Styles will be making his debut as a solo artist, who recently dropped his first ballad “Sign of the Times”. Check out an audio video of Styles’ new song below.

Styles will perform his new hit, along with a second song that has not been revealed. Styles’ new self-titled album is due to be released May 12, 2017 via Columbia Records.

As for tonight’s show, when Jimmy Fallon is on board, viewers can often expect surprise celebrity guests. In the past, Tina Fey and Justin Timberlake have been prominent partners opposite Fallon on the sketch comedy series.
