Why Isn’t ‘The 100’ on Tonight? When Does It Return?

the 100 not on tonight

Why isn’t The 100 on tonight? (The CW/The 100)

If you tuned in to watch The 100 at its regular time of 9 p.m. Eastern tonight, April 12, you might have noticed that it’s not airing. Instead, The CW is airing back-to-back episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway? So why isn’t The 100 on tonight and when is it returning with Episode 9?

The next episode of The 100 will air on April 26 and it’ll be called DNR . Yes, that means that not only do you not get to see a new episode of The 100  tonight, but you also don’t get to see a new episode next week either. Right now, we’re in the middle of a mid-season break for the show. But why?

The CW sometimes takes a hiatus in April from some of its shows so that more new episodes can air during May Sweeps. This year, May Sweeps takes place from April 27 to May 24. In case you don’t know, “Sweeps” refers to the time when Nielsen uses diaries to collect viewing information from sample U.S. homes. Nielsen typically processes about two million diaries during sweeps periods that take place in November, February, May, and July. This can inform program scheduling and advertising decisions, so networks try to make sure they’re showing their best episodes during that period.

And here’s a preview of the episode that we’ll finally get to see on April 26:

Previously on the show, Roan had to make the tough decision of forcing Luna to have her blood taken. They were going to test the NightBlood on Emori, but Murphy screamed and yelled at Clarke about the decision. Ultimately, Clarke injected herself with NightBlood, taking on the responsibility. But before she could get into the radiation chamber, Abby smashed it to pieces. Meanwhile, Bellamy decides to join Jasper and just party for awhile at Arkadia because of how much stress he’s been under. And Jaha — with help from Monty — finds the secret to opening the Second Dawn hatch. If you want to read a detailed synopsis of everything that happened in last week’s episode, a fan wrote an in-depth article about it here.

Although The 100 isn’t on tonight, the writers are already hard at work on Season 5. They started writing about the new season on April 2 and tweeted about it so all fans would know:

Unfortunately, we’ll still be waiting a while longer to see the next episode of The 100, so we’re just left with speculation about what might happen. It looks like things are about to get really intense on the show.

This is ridiculous weeks and weeks and months and months you wonder why people stop watching shows well that’s why da!!!!! It certainly doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Not to mention paying people thousands and thousands to analyze whether or not people like this show or that show.

Here is a survey, I watch because I love a show, but when I have to wait weeks to see the show again, I stop and move on to other things that catch my attention. I have yet to finish any shows to the end, due to this I entertain elsewhere
