In Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, actor Brenton Thwaites plays Henry Turner, son of Orlando Bloom’s Will Turner.

This is a major role for the 27-year-old actor, who first rose to prominence in the teen drama Slide and who has also starred in The Giver, Oculus and Gods of Egypt. Thwaites is originally from Queensland, Australia, and he is dating Chloe Pacey, with whom he has one child.

Here’s what you need to know about Chloe Pacey, the girlfriend of Brenton Thwaites.

1. She & Brenton Were Roommates Before They Started Dating

Brenton Thwaites originally met Chloe Pacey on the Australian version of Craigslist.

He told Interview Magazine that while he was in Australia shooting Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, he needed a place to live for a while, as his home is in Los Angeles. He found a house share online, and one of his roommates was Chloe Pacey.

“After traveling the world and meeting so many girls, you go back to your hometown and there’s the one, waiting for you in your backyard,” Thwaites told Interview Magazine.

This means they would have met around February 2015, which is when production on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales officially began.

It was at the premiere of In the Heart of the Sea in late 2015 that Brenton Thwaites and Chloe Pacey were first seen in public together. At the premiere, Chloe Pacey showed off her baby bump, and a spokesperson for Brenton Thwaites later confirmed to The Courier Mail that Pacey was pregnant with his child.

“I can confirm he and his girlfriend are having a baby,” the spokeswoman said.

However, at the time, virtually no other information about the relationship was known.

2. She is an Artist & a Student From Perth

Chloe Pacey is an artist.

On her Instagram account, Pacey frequently posts photos of her artwork, most of which is abstract. These art pictures are often accompanied by quotes Pacey likes or her own thoughts on life and current events.

In a recent Instagram post, Pacey talked about how she feels a responsibility to raise Birdie to be a good person, especially given what’s going on in the world today.

“It’s a privilege to have a child and I believe that when we say yes to a life it is our responsibility to nurture them beyond what we do for ourselves,” she wrote. “There is no room for ignorance or laziness anymore. Today I have felt overwhelmed with emotions upon reading and seeing photographs from #aleppo and I feel helpless in this moment. As I reflect and think deeply about it I remind myself that I can actually do something for the future of our children and that is to raise Birdie with so much love and nourishment and teach her what matters.”

Pacey has also talked about what an incredible experience it is to watch her daughter see the world for the first time.

“In awe watching her experience every single thing, for the very first time, every single day, for six whole months on this huge big trip,” Pacey said.

In an Instagram post, Pacey talked about the importance of taking care of oneself after a pregnancy.

“Last year after I gave birth to Birdie, my body was at its most vulnerable, we were in San Francisco and I put myself into a headstand, I fell through a glass door and cut open my knees in a bunch of places,” she said. “I stopped doing headstands. Today I welcomed them back. Like most things with the body and mind, it takes practice and consistency. How typical of our mind to deprive our physical bodies with what they crave most. A reminder to dissolve the limitations the mind has for you. Your body is craving to be nurtured. All. The. Time.”

In one Instagram post, Pacey said that within the first few months of taking care of her baby, she was already asked by two different women to stop breastfeeding in public.

“We should be able to get a boob out anywhere at anytime to feed our babe,” Pacey said. “We should be applauded because #breastfeeding is the best thing we can do for our babes and it’s freakin hard work. The last thing we are thinking about is sex so it should be the last thing any man or women thinks of when they see it!”
