As the season comes to a close, Normani Kordei has taken to Instagram to talk about her bond with her pro partner Val Chmerkovskiy, writing that: I couldn't imagine walking through this chapter without you @iamvalc I view you not only as my teacher but as one of my dearest friends that I'll cherish for a lifetime. What a special human you are. I love you beyond. Never forget it. And last night, Kordei also took time to pay tribute to those who have suffered from the explosive tragedy last night at an Ariana Grande concert overseas. Kordei wrote: While I am incredibly grateful for the turnout of our performance on @dancingabc tonight, the news about the horrific acts in Manchester are sobering and heartbreaking. Praying for the families and loved ones of those affected, and praying that through LOVE, we can overcome this. What the world needs now, is peace, unity, and LOVE. Chmerkovskiy also had some thoughts to share online, saying that: No matter who wins tonight it's been such a pleasure. Not just going from rooting for Rashad as the running back of my NYGiants and then sharing the floor with the man. Not just cause David Ross is one of the coolest/funniest/kindest people ever and happens to be a decent baseball player and get to now call him my friend. Not just cause Normani Kordei her talent and kindness gave me one of the best if not the best content I've ever produced on the show ... Honestly I'm grateful for this finale because the other two pros there with me couldn't have been more deserving. What Lindsay created with David was beautiful because it was honest. What Emma was able to create with Rashad was magic because it was honest. They genuinely cared, and it showed like no other. Proud to be part of an amazing show with incredible people ... oh and Tom was cool too. Chmerkovskiy also made a shout out to partner Kordei, praising her for her work with him this season. He gushed to her: I'm so proud of you. I'm so impressed by you. I'm so grateful for you. It's been an absolute pleasure seeing you blossom seeing you grow seeing you be graceful and grateful all at the same time. Love your drive.
