Over the past couple of years, Teen Mom OG fans have been very vocal about their suspicions of drug use when it comes to star Ryan Edwards. Fans have speculated via social media and recently, Edwards’ ex Maci Bookout talked about the alleged drug use on Teen Mom OG. Co-star Amber Portwood said that when she sees Edwards on the show, she knows he’s “on something.” Portwood also said that:
Ryan’s fucked up. I watch it, I see it, I know it. Where he’s at right now, when I see him, I know where he’s at and I’m like, ‘Wow, he needs some guidance’ … People forget that. You are so in love with the drugs that you feel if you wake up in the morning without them you want to die. So, should I die? It’s a feeling you can never fucking feel unless you’ve really been to the bottom. He needs to find where his bottom may be.
This prompted Bookout to open up and shed tears, saying that she worries Edwards will die one day and her son Bentley will no longer have a father. Bookout cried:
Honestly, the hardest thing is for me to see Ryan not love himself because he is a person worth loving. He deserves to love himself.
Bookout stated on the show that she would love for him to go to rehab and believes he wants to go. However, she says that the people around it worry more about what it will look like to the outside world.
Apparently, this is no longer the case (if that was accurate), as E! News reports that Edwards has checked himself into rehab. In addition, he is reported to have gotten married to fiancee Mackenzie Standifer before checking into a facility. According to court records, the couple tied the knot in Hamilton County, Tennessee, on May 15, 2017. Us Weekly also reports that Edwards checked into rehab on June 3, 2017 and that he is “doing well.”
Even so, it appears that since the drug claims on Teen Mom OG came out, Standifer has made her Instagram account set to private, which you can see in the below photo.
Edwards and Standifer announced their engagement via Instagram in December 2016 and their proposal was captured on an episode of Teen Mom OG. There were originally rumors that the couple got engaged at a Waffle House, but Standifer was sure to clear up those reports.
In addition to drug claims about her ex Edwards, Maci Bookout is dealing with issues she has with husband Taylor McKinney. She says that she and McKinney drink and get into “freak outs” when the cameras aren’t around. Have a look at a scene from tonight’s episode of Teen Mom OG in the below clip.
