HBO fell victim to cyber hackers and upcoming information about the remaining episodes of Game of Thrones was acquired, according to Entertainment Weekly. The hackers claim to have obtained a script from the fourth episode of the show, scheduled to air next week. That script has been posted online.

Following the breach, HBO released the following statement.

“HBO recently experienced a cyber incident, which resulted in the compromise of proprietary information. We immediately began investigating the incident and are working with law enforcement and outside cybersecurity firms. Data protection is a top priority at HBO, and we take seriously our responsibility to protect the data we hold,” the network said. HBO has not said exactly what was stolen in this cyber attack.

On Sunday, several reporters were sent the following message, believed to be from the hackers.

“Hi to all mankind. The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh I forget to tell. Its HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!! You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him. HBO is falling.”

The hackers claim to have stolen 1.5 terabytes of data from HBO, according to Entertainment Weekly.

News of this hacking comes just one day after reports that the network was taking extra precautions to ensure that the final two seasons of the show were protected. According to the Mirror, show-runners have been worried about a cyber attack not only because the show is so popular, but because these attacks have happened in the past. For this reason, security had recently been increased.

Security was addressed by Jon Snow actor Kit Harington in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that was released earlier this month.

“I think we did everything we could. There’s only so much you can do when you’re filming in these beautiful locations and you can’t shut places off. You just have to deal with these, frankly, a**holes who wanna spoil it for people. I know there’s money involved, but I just got so… I’m so protective over this show now. I’m so fond of it and as it gets towards the end, and all these exciting things happen, which I want to be shocks for people, it really infuriates me when I see someone ruining that [for] people,” Harington said.
