How Long Is ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Episode 3 Tonight?

HBO

You’ve likely heard the rumors that some episodes in this season of Game of Thrones are going to be extra long in order to help make up for the much shorter season. It’s true, and tonight is one of those nights. Tonight’s episode will be 63 minutes long, which is a full four minutes longer in air time than last week. The finale is reported to be extra long, clocking in at 81 minutes.

According to the show’s TV listings, tonight’s episode will end at 10:05 p.m. Eastern.

Here are the run times for the rest of the episodes in the season:

  • Episode 3: 63 minutes
  • Episode 4: 50 minutes (why so short?)
  • Episode 5: 59 minutes
  • Episode 6: 71 minutes
  • Episode 7: 81 minutes

The longest episode so far has been the Season 6 finale, Winds of Winter, which clocked in for 68 minutes. This season’s finale is going to blow that one out of the water, being 81 minutes long. And tonight’s episode will be the longest we’ve had this season so far. Unfortunately, Episode 4 is going to be extra short, only clocking in at 50 minutes.

Things are looking up for Season 8. Although the season will only have six episodes, there have been some rumors that those episodes might be feature-movie-length. This will make us feel at least a little less bitter about the season being so short.
