Insecure fans are excited to learn that the hit HBO series has made it to its second season.
The hit drama stars, and was created by, Issa Rae, and follows her character and her relationship with friend Yvonne Orji, who plays Molly. Season 2 picks up with Issa heartbroken, and looking to find love.

Issa Rae as Issa
Issa Rae’s creative content has garnered 23 million views and over 200,000 YouTube subscribers. She has also been listed on EW’s “Breaking Big” star and made Forbes’ “30 Under 30” list.
Rae’s hit series The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl received the Shorty Award for best Web Show, and her first book, which was a collection of short stories, became a New York Times bestseller.
Yvonne Orji as Molly
Yvonne Orji is a Nigerian actress, comedian, and writer. When she isn’t filming insecure, she is busy developing her own half-hour sitcom, which will be produced by Oprah and David Oyelowo. According to HBO, “The show is a comedy about a Nigerian girl who trades medical school for a career in stand-up comedy and the adventures that ensue after her strict African mother discovers her plans.”
Yvonne is very active in a variety of charities, and in 2008 and 2009, she spent 6 months working in Liberia with the NGO, Population Services International. Before moving to LA, she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and a Masters in Public Health from George Washington.
Jay Ellis as Lawrence
Jay Ellis previously starred in BET’s The Game, which ended after an impressive nine seasons. He played Bryce ‘Blue’ Westbrook, the first-round wide receiver draft pick from Stanford.
His film debut came in the Elizabeth Banks’ directed film, Movie 43.
Lisa Joyce as Frieda
Lisa Joyce is originally from Chicago. Her many TV credits include Ricki and the Flash, Billy+Billie, The Following, The Good Wife, Fringe, Law & Order: SVU, and The Brave One, among others.
Joyce is currently producing a film adaptation of Joy Williams’ novel The Changeling as a theatrical production of Hedda Gabler.
Y’Ian Noel as Daniel
Y’Ian recently received rave reviews for his work in the Skylight Theater’s production of Pray to Ball. He graduated at the top of his class from Tisch School of the Arts.
Langston Kerman as Jared
Langston is a comedian, actor, and writer from Oak Park, Illinois.
He appeared in season 3 of Adam DeVine’s House Party on Comedy Central, and now recurs as Jared on Insecure.
In 2015, Kerman was chosen as the New Face of the ‘Just For Laughs’ Festival in Montreal. He was also a part of the writing staff for Chris Rock at the 2016 Oscars.
Dominique Perry as Tasha
Dominique Perry is an actress and dancer from Houston, Texas.
Perry was very active in her school’s theater scene until age 17, at which point she attended A&M University, and majored in theater. Perry also attended Texas Southern University, where she was a dancer.
After graduating, Perry invested her time in a singing career, and traveled back and forth to LA for film and music video auditions. She booked her first big on-screen role as Shonda in “Get Hard” with Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart.
Amanda Seales as Tiffany
Amanda Seales is an actress, content creator, and more. She has performed stand-up comedy across the globe, and is a spokesperson for anti-tobacco’s TheTruth.Com. Seales is also the host of FOX’s “Empire” after-show, which has been named one of LA’s hit comedy game show “Smart Funny & Black.”
Natasha Rothwell as Kelli
Natasha is an alumni of UCB’s improv troupe. She wrote and stars in Netflix Presents: The Characters, an original sketch series. Prior to that, Natasha wrote for SNL.
