TBS’ People of Earth returns for a second season, and with a new face joining the cast. New Girl star Nasim Pedrad will be featured in the new season as an FBI agent who shows up in Beacon, New York. Read on for a preview of the new season, which debuts at 10:30 p.m. ET on Monday, July 24. Future episodes air in the same timeslot on Mondays.
In People of Earth, Daily Show veteran Wyatt Cenac stars as New York City journalist Ozzie who decides to write a story about a group of “experiencers” in Beacon. They believe they were abducted by aliens.
At first, Ozzie thinks they are just weirdos, but then he recalls having a similar experience and realizes that Beacon is a very strange place. He quits his job at the newspaper so he can dedicate himself to investigating the strange occurrences in the town.
The first season of People of Earth, which debuted in October 2016, was critically acclaimed and averaged 4.2 million viewers over multiple platforms. The network picked it up for a second 10-episode season in December and announced the casting of Pedrad in a regular role in April.
