The newest Lifetime movie is another addition to the network’s long-running “wrong” series. There’s been wrong students, wrong children, wrong roommates and now The Wrong Crush. The new film about a high school track star who becomes the object of a disturbed colleague’s affections debuts on July 2, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Read on for a preview and to meet the cast.

In the movie, Amelia (Victoria Konefal) tries to put her put her troublesome past behind her by dedicating herself to becoming a high school track star. She’s also committed to her boyfriend and hopes that this helps save her relationship with her mother. But when a new student transfers to her high school, her life is in danger. The new student develops a dangerous obsession (are there any good obsessions in Lifetime movies?) with Amelia. She now has to juggle with this dangerous student and the resurrection of her past drug use.

The Wrong Crush was directed by David DeCoteau, who has over 130 directing credits to his name. His recent credits include The Wrong Student, Deadly Lessons, A Husband For Christmas and 666: Teen Werewolf. Writer Matthew Jason Walsh also wrote The Wrong Student, as well as The Wrong Child, The Wrong Roommate, Seven Dorms of Death and 3 Scream Queens.
