HBO

Fans are crying and heartbroken over an absolutely horrific death on Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 6. We need to comfort each other, so join us as we say goodbye.

This post has major spoilers for Season 7 Episode 6 of Game of Thrones.

Don’t read on unless you’ve already seen the episode.

Viserion was heartlessly, horrifically killed during a battle north of the Wall. The Night King had a new weapon that no one expected, and now Viserion is gone.

We’ve known Viserion since he was just a wee dragon’s egg.

He was born when Dany took his egg, and Drogon’s and Rhaegal’s, onto Drogo’s funeral pyre. He was the one clinging to Dany’s leg.

He was the smallest of the three dragons, with cream and gold scales with red-orange wings.

He stayed much smaller than normal for his age after he and Rhaegal were locked up in the catacombs.

Tyrion connected with Viserion and Rhaegal, and they allowed him to remove their chains. The two dragons crushed a Second Siege of Meereen, proving they really shouldn’t have been locked up after all.

Viserion loved to fly. He loved to breathe fire and serve his mother. He was happy to be free and only tried to do what she wanted.

We’ll miss you Viserion. :(

Here are a few more photos to say goodbye.

A Redditor wrote a touching post to Viserion. Read it below:

His name was Viserion Targaryen…. he came to us from the shadowlands beyond Asshai. A brother to Drogon and Rhaegal. He was a dragon loyal to the end. No dragon was gentler. In his heart, burned the fire of a thousand suns, but now his fire has gone out.

We shall never see his like again. And now, his watch is ended.
