At the end of the 2001 movie, the gang promised to return to Camp Firewood for a reunion to see how their lives have changed. Now it’s time to fulfill that promise and surprisingly, everyone shows up! Unfortunately, they learn that Beth (Janeane Garofalo) is planning on selling the camp, so they try their best to stop it.

In addition to most members of the star-studded ensemble cast finding time to come back, there’s a new group of characters joining in on the fun. Alyssa Milano, Jai Courtney, Adam Scott, Melanie Lynskey and Dax Shepard will appear in the new show.

When Wet Hot American Summer was first released, the film was considered a bomb, grossing just $295,206 in a very limited release. But after the film’s home video release and TV airings, it gained a big following. It helped that almost every member of the main cast, including Paul Rudd, Ken Marino, Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, Joe Lo Truglio, Elizabeth Banks and Christopher Meloni, went on to become top Hollywood stars.

Wain and Showalter, who also plays Coop, crafted a 2015 prequel series for Netflix called Wet Hot American Summer: First Day at Camp. That series, like the new one, ran eight episodes and featured the entire cast from the movie. However, Cooper couldn’t return for Ten Years Later, so Adam Scott is in his role.
