Fans don’t have to worry about whether the show is renewed or canceled, because it’s already been renewed. In fact, AMC announced the renewal before Season 3 premiered in June. That’s how excited the network is about the series.

Unfortunately, an exact start date hasn’t yet been announced by AMC as of the time of publication. The best guess is April or June of 2018. Season 2 premiered in April and Season 3 premiered in June.

2. There May Be a Crossover at Some Point

We also know that sometime in the next season, either for Fear the Walking Dead or for The Walking Dead will have a crossover event. A character from one of the shows will appear on the other, we just don’t know which or when.

“There is one character that is going to go from one show, that I will not name, to another show, that I will not name,” Robert Kirkman has said.

Many fans are thinking we may see Abraham on Fear the Walking Dead Season 4, and get more ideas of what his life was like before he joined Rick’s team. Abraham lived in Texas when the outbreak happened, and Fear is currently taking place in Mexico. There have been rumors that Fear could be moving to Texas for Season 4, and that would definitely leave the door open for a crossover, since Fear is currently taking place around the time that Rick woke up.

But other fans are hoping it will be a Fear character who crosses over into The Walking Dead universe.

3. Fear Is Losing a Favorite Showrunner

The scariest part about Season 4 is the loss of a favorite showrunner. Dave Erickson is leaving the show to work on new projects with AMC Studios. This has some fans distraught, because they’ve loved Fear‘s direction and feel that the show has actually surpassed The Walking Dead.

With the loss of a showrunner comes new possibilities. Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg will be boarding as co-showrunners for Season 4.

Scott M. Gimple, executive producer and showrunner of The Walking Dead, will be coming on as executive producer of Fear the Walking Dead. Some fans who aren’t so sure they’ve liked The Walking Dead‘s direction lately aren’t so sure how they feel about Gimple’s arrival, but other fans are excited.

With people leaving and new people joining, you can bet that Season 4 will be quite different from Season 3.

Robert Kirkman thinks it’s going to be exciting, and hinted about that to fans.

5. Fans Are Ready for Season 4
