U.S. President Barack Obama awards the Presidential Medal of Freedom to popular music icon Diana Ross during a ceremony in the East Room of the White House November 22, 2016.

Tonight, Diana Ross will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 45th American Music Awards.

Ross, famous for the voice that produced hit songs like “Where Did Our Love Go”, “Baby Love”, and “Come See About Me”, among others, has been married twice and has five children. Her second husband, Robert Ellis Silberstein, is an American music executive and businessman.

Here’s what you should know about Robert Ellis Silberstein.

1. He Was a Manager for Billy Preston, Rufus, and Meat Loaf

A music executive and manager, Silberstein has managed an impressive roster of artists, including Billy Preston, Diana Ross, Rufus, Meat Loaf, and Status Quo. He even managed Diana Ross, herself, in the 1970s. He also managed Chaka Khan.

2. He Has Two Children with Diana Ross

Silberstein has two children with Diana Ross: Tracee Ellis Ross and Chudney Ross.

The music mogul was married to Diana Ross from 1971 to 1977. After the split, the two remained friends and loyal parents to their children. Silberstein told People that after the divorce, their relationship improved– it was “almost too good to believe, like brother and sister.”

Silberstein spent the years after his divorce living in Connecticut and working in Manhattan. He saw his children four or five times each week.  “We have a very casual approach,” he told People. “The kids will come over, or I’ll wander over to Diana’s for dinner. Our separation wasn’t a Helen Reddy-Jeff Wald situation.”

3. He Is Close with His Former Stepdaughter Rhonda Ross

Silberstein is close with his former stepdaughter, Rhonda Ross, whose biological father is Motown founder Berry Gordy.

According to the New York Post, Rhonda was nearly 13 when she learned that the man she referred to as Dad– Silberstein– wasn’t, in fact, her biological father. Interestingly enough, fans already guessed that was the case. “I’d meet fans on the street who’d say, ‘Oh child, we knew you were Berry Gordy’s daughter — you look just like him!’ ” Gordy was so close with the family that growing up, Rhonda nad her sisters called him “uncle”.
