Where Was Hallmark’s ‘Miss Christmas’ Filmed?

Hallmark’s latest movie premiering tonight, Miss Christmas, is all about a woman who finds the perfect Christmas tree in the special town of Klaus, Wisconsin. But if you’re hoping to visit Klaus yourself, the city — unfortunately — doesn’t exist. You’ll actually have to visit a completely different country to see the sights and sounds of Miss Christmas. Hallmark’s Miss Christmas was filmed in Vancouver, and other areas in British Columbia, including Ladner Village.

The movie, directed by Michael Rohl, was filmed from July 24 to August 11, 2017.

Some signs for the movie were spotted at 96th Ave. Port Kells in British Columbia, if you want to look in more specific areas:

One site that we know was a location for filming was Ladner Village. There are lots of cute locations in Ladner Village, so this might be a good place to look for that Klaus feeling. In fact, it’s known for having a Main Street USA feel that’s popular for filming.

This movie is based on the digital novella Miss Christmas written by Gwendolyn Heasley. Heasley published the book on Amazon under the pen name Gigi Garrett in 2015 just after Halloween. She then sent the book to Hallmark and had a film deal by April 2016.

The synopsis for Miss Christmas reads:

Holly Khun (D’Orsay), known to Chicago as “Miss Christmas,” always finds the most magnificent tree for the plaza, but this year’s 95-foot spruce has been damaged and the lighting ceremony is 10 days away. Hoping for a miracle, Holly combs through photos and finds that Joey (Luke Roessler, “Legion,” “Once Upon a Time”) from Klaus, Wisconsin, has the perfect tree – if only the boy’s letter had a return address. Off Holly goes to Klaus, where she stays at a bed & breakfast run by Joey’s aunt, who takes her to the farm to meet Joey’s father Sam McNary (Blucas). Although he and Holly are attracted to one another, Sam isn’t filled with her holiday spirit. His mother passed away the year before and he feels the tree, with his parents’ initials carved into the trunk, should stay on the farm. Sam’s father says Holly should present her case to the family for a vote but time is running out. Holly’s boss says not to bother coming back if she can’t produce the tree in three days. But as Holly gets to know the McNarys, she isn’t convinced the tree should go. She’s also not sure she wants to go back to Chicago. She came looking for the perfect tree, but might have found the perfect man and an idyllic new place to call home.
