If clothes make the man, then jammies make the man way more comfortable. How can you not endorse what are, in effect, soft pants? When people wear pajamas, they’re telling the world: you keep doing what you have to do, I’ll be over here relaxing. You can’t be in a bad mood when you’re in pajamas. Pajamas are one reason Hef was always smiling. We, too, have never been of the opinion that pj’s should be limited to nightwear, but we also agree that it is fully acceptable to throw the jams on for bed. All that said, we’re shuffling softly into different territory…a different category…when the subject is men’s Christmas pajamas. Yuletide jammas are about the comfort, the color and, often, the fun factor. The men’s Christmas pajamas field is dominated by reds and greens, but our list has more. And the design is usually solidly masculine (plaid, for example) or just something fun (which is not to say it is unmasculine, mind you) and we’ve got all that, too. Speaking of dressing for the season, if you need something a bit more formal, check out our list of the Top 10 Christmas Party Suits for Men. Don’t need the whole suit? Take a peek at the Top 10 Best Christmas Ties for Men or the Top 10 Best Christmas Bow Ties for Men. And if you’re looking for other great Christmas ideas, scope our gigantic list. As for this list, whether you call ’em pj’s or pajamas or pyjamas or jammies — or, like me, soft pants — you have won Christmas when you don a pair of men’s Christmas pajamas from our list of the Top 10 Best Men’s Christmas Pajamas.
1. Alexander Del Rossa Christmas Plaid Pajamas
Just about as classic as they come. These men’s Christmas pj’s from Alexander Del Rossa feature a red and green Christmas plaid pattern. They’re 100 percent cotton flannel and the top five buttons. Making it even easier on-and-off is the fact that the waistband is elastic. This brand of men’s pajamas comes in 27 different colors and patterns. If you want something that’s still in the men’s Christmas pajamas ballpark, these red and black plaids are a good option. Alexander Del Rossa is a super popular brand with excellent reviews.
Price: $27.99-$29.99 (depending on size/color selected)
2. SleepytimePjs Penguin Footed and Hooded Pajamas
For the dude who fully believes that cozy is a way of life. These fleece men’s Christmas pajamas pretty much have you covered (literally) on every comfortable front: they’re built roomy so the wearer can stretch and move without the fabric pulling; they’ve got no-slip gripper booties, which can be zipped off and on; they have a hood; cuffed sleeves; two front kangaroo style pockets; they are made of soft fleece; and they have a zipper front. The penguin pattern also includes snowflakes so it’s a great set of men’s Christmas pj’s. SleepytimePjs has several different versions of men’s Christmas pajamas, and we’re thinking you might find yourself not being able to live without the Cranberry Deer version.
Price: $39.99-$44.99 (depending on size/color selected)
3. PajamaGram Santa Suit Pajamas
There are a few things to point out about this pair of men’s Christmas pajamas. First, they’re made in men’s, women’s, girl’s and boy’s sizes. The idea is that a family (or a rap group, or a marketing department, or a yard care crew — you get the idea) can all rep matching jammies. That said, you don’t have to buy more than one pair. And, for the guy who wants to pay a little homage to Saint Nick, these red and white gems are great. They’re 95 percent cotton and they feature white cuffs at the jam bottoms and the jam sleeves. There’s even a printed graphic of Santa’s belt on these things. Super comfy, too: they feature an elastic drawstring waistband, side seam pockets and a button fly. Another great PajamaGram (that also features a design for the whole clan) is the Charlie Brown Christmas pajamas.
Price: $12.99-$59.99 (depending on size/style selected)
4. L’amore Solid Top Striped Bottom Pajamas
While we do think that men’s Christmas pajamas (or any pajamas, come to think of it) should be very loose and comfy, we recognize that there may be some fashionable dudes out there who prefer something a bit snugger. Behold the L’amores. It’s a very nice looking pair of men’s Christmas pj’s with a solid green top that features white detailing around the cuffs and collar, and horizontally striped green and white bottoms. They are elastic in the waist, they feature pockets and are designed to be snug fitting.
5. #FollowMe Henley Top and Fleece Bottoms Pajamas
This pair of men’s Christmas pajamas perhaps best represents what the soft pants lifestyle is all about. It’s a two piece microfleece set, featuring black and red plaid polar fleece bottoms and a black Henley top. (The Henley is a collarless pullover that features a few buttons at the neck.) #FollowMe produces its pajamas to be very durable and they make several colors. We’re especially partial to the light blues. This is a pair of pj’s that practically begs to be worn to the store to grab some emergency eggnog. Lounge in them. Sleep in them. Whatever your activity or non-activity, you can’t help but be in the Christmas spirit in them.
6. Alexander Del Rossa Shorts & V-Neck Pajamas
We realize that not every guy out there is prepared to go full jammie. It is because of this that we are including this set of short sleeved, V-neck, short pj’s in this list of men’s Christmas pajamas. These burgundy with white piping jams are 100 percent cotton and they feature an elastic waist with pockets in the shorts. The shirt features three buttons. If you want to flaunt your baller status, grab an eight pack of Zmart’s patterned crew socks. It’s Christmas, after all, so go for it.
Price: $29.99-$34.99 (depending on size selected)
7. Calvin Klein Men’s Holiday Pajama Set
Why not include a pair of designer men’s Christmas pajamas in the mix? Calvin practically invented the cool undies category, so you know these will rep well for you. This set from Calvin Klein features a looser pajama bottom and a contrasting color, tiny-bit-tighter long sleeve top (it’s not tight-tight…just a bit tighter than the bottoms). In this case, the top is in charcoal heather and the bottoms are in a Daniel plaid that is “ignite red” colored. These are 100 percent cotton and they come in a great gift-style box that says “Happy Holidays.” Calvin also has a pair that’s in Dylan red with a Robert stripe.
Price: $52.45-$65 (depending on size/color/style selected)
8. Andrew Scott 3 Pack Flannel Fleece Pajama Bottoms
This is a great deal: three pairs of what Andrew Scott calls “pajama sleep & lounge pants.” The company makes a variety of plaids, and these are randomly prepackaged. As shown, they include at least one quite Christmas-y pair in red and blue plaid. You can put it over the yuletide top with a “Dabbing Santa Christmas T-Shirt” or a “Snoopy Ugly Sweater Christmas T-Shirt.” Whatever you choose, the fact is that these definitely qualify as men’s Christmas pajamas. If you prefer some bottoms with a bit more “personality,” these Buddy the elf lounge pants — based on the Will Ferrell movie “Elf” — might be your jam and you could couple the bottoms with a crazy Buddy the elf top.
9. Tipsy Elves Reindeer Jumpsuit Onesie
While this onesie is technically not men’s Christmas pajamas, we do believe that it demands a place in the soft pants world because it’s a funky piece from Tipsy Elves that is all about the comfort. It features reindeer cavorting about the hood, torso, sleeves, legs — everywhere. It’s a charcoal, red and white design with a long front zipper and two side pockets. It’s been produced with reinforced seams and high quality construction, so if you can’t convince anyone else in the living room to go to the store for a beer run, you can just hop in the Ferrari and head there yourself with your hooded head held high.
Price: $59.95 (23 percent off MSRP)
10. Alexander Del Rossa Christmas Camouflage
These Alexander Del Rossa flannel pajamas are cut in the very classic pj way: button up top and an elastic waistband for the bottoms. This pair of men’s Christmas pajamas covers the Christmas color bases with red, green, white and black. The difference with this pair is that it’s a camouflage pattern. These are 100 percent cotton. Think of all the jokes you’ll be able to tell about whether or not your loved ones can see your Christmas pj’s.
