New Guitar Hero-esque Game… Now With Strings!

1268154437_powergig.jpgSeven45 Studios may be new to the video game market, but they’re wasting no time in taking musical video games to the next level. The studio plans on releasing Power Gig: Rise of the Sixstring this fall, Kotaku.com reports. The game requires a controller that’s actually a functioning electric guitar (pictured above) that can connect to guitar amps and create real music.

The game has a “chording” feature which allows players to use power chords for a more realistic feel. However, the question becomes whether or not gamers really want to switch from pressing buttons to picking up an actual instrument. But fear not! Seven45 has said that Power Gig is not meant to teach you how to play an instrument. Phew. That was close.
