Come November 8, 2013, Marvel’s comic book movie phase gets starts to head into high gear with Thor: The Dark World. Everyone knows a licensed video game is always soon to follow some of the year’s biggest blockbuster films. What’s different about the game behind Thor’s second film is the fact that it’s a mobile action/adventure title.
Nine worlds exist for Thor’s action-heavy trials and reverse-tower defense missions. As far as mobile comic book-themed video games go, Thor: The Dark World: The Official Game is a pretty damn good release.
Here’s the top 10 tips/tricks/cheats you need to use in your journey through Asgard.
1. The Basics Behind Each World and Their Levels
The way this game is structured is simple. Nine separate worlds exist and among them are Vanaheim, Asgard, Jotunheim, Svartalfheim and Nidavellir. All of the stages that are contained within each world come with three important objectives you’ll be tasked with completing. Completing these objectives ends up granting you a varied amount of stars. These stars can then applied to purchasing some pretty nifty upgrades for Thor, such as armor variants. If you’re ready to smash some dark elves as Beta Ray Bill, then that option is available.
2. The Basics to Upgrading Thor
Modojo.com listed some advice towards the upgrading factors that can be applied to Thor and his allies:
When it comes to Thor himself, you can boost four individual areas. First is his general Strength, which makes him faster and stronger each time you raise a level. Next up is Armor. These are new suits of armor that you can don once they’re unlocked, either by collecting enough stars in the game or, if the option’s available, buying right out.
Then there are his Skills. Here, you can teach Thor new moves on the battlefield, including a collective hammer spin that can hit multiple enemies at once. We suggest going for this move first, as it’s useful whenever you become surrounded.
Finally, there’s the Weapons section, best mainly around hammers. As you might guess, they get a bit bigger in size than the basic Mjolnir model Thor starts with, and even come empowered with flame, electricity and more over time. Shop around and see which ones work right for you.
As for your allies, you’ll basically increase their general Speed and Strength stats, which will serve you better in the long run during later levels of the game.
3. Go Back to Earlier Stages to Build Up Your Rune/ISO-8 Count
Sooner or later, you’ll start to contend with some tougher stages and much more difficult stage situations. If you’re looking to max out your rune count intake and get a lot stronger for those harder stages, then go back and pick up some runes in earlier levels. Complete those earlier stages and farm as many runes as much as you can. Upgrading becomes a lot easier as you farm earlier (and easier) levels for runes and even Iso-8.
4. Connect the Game to Facebook to Cop Some Free Uru
Completing some achievements in the game will earn you some Uru. One of the easiest and stress-free ways to earn some Uru (five pieces of Uru, to be exact) is by connecting the game to Facebook. Make sure you do that social media move as soon as you start up the game.
5. Here’s Another Way to Cop Some More (FREE!) URU
Okay, so you got your free intake of some much needed Uru through Facebook. Want some more Uru? OF COURSE YOU DO! Check the free offer wall through the game’s in-store app. Complete these frivolous offers and soon you’ll earn some much needed extra Uru.
