A host of new plants and zombies are being made specifically for this new iteration on the Plants vs. Zombies gameplay formula. Check out the listing below to get a look at the brand new character classes that are making their way into Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare:

Plants

- Garlic Drone (non-playable)
– Hot Rod Chomper
– Ice Cactus
– Toxic Peashooter
– Future Cactus
– Mystic Sunflower
– Unknown Green Mushroom that may actually be the Fume-shroom (non-playable)
– Fire Cactus
– Power Chomper
– Magma Chomper

Zombies

- All-Star Zombie
– Engineer Zombie
– Foot Soldier Zombie
– Scientist Zombie
– Bomber Imp (non-playable)
– Zombie with casket (non-playable)


7. Each Class Can Be Changed Into Different Versions of Themselves

There’s a ton of character customization that players can tinker around with if they want, too. Several plants/zombies can be outfitted with certain items that will alter some of their abilities. For example, certain plant classes are capable of transforming into these variant class types:

- Cactus = Future Cactus
– Chomper = Magma Chomper
– Sunflower = Mystic Sunflower
– Peashooter = Toxic Peashooter


8. SmartGlass and Kinect Functionality Is Being Added

Two Xbox exclusive features are being prepped to be compatible with Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare. The SmartGlass function and Kinect 2.0 compatibility for the Xbox One version of the game will work in conjunction with two exclusive game modes. One of those game modes in the purported Boss Mode. The gameplay footage above showcases some of the Boss Mode’s features.


9. The Game’s Original Title Was Different

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare was originally supposed to be titled Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time. One thing about the game that hasn’t changed though is its theme of being a parody of Activision’s popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The name will certainly inform of you of that previous fact, due to the play on words with “Garden” and “Modern”.


10. It’s A Microsoft/PC Gaming Exclusive

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare

Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare will release exclusively on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on February 21, 2014 (UK) and February 25, 2014 (US). PC gamers will have a chance to purchase and play the game for themselves on February 27, 2014. The game will release with a special low price that comes in at $39.99 (Xbox One), $29.99 (Xbox 360) and $35.99 (PC).
