The 2014 gaming year has come to a close, and that means here comes the awards! This year, there’s a bit of a change-up thrown to the gaming community: The Video Game Awards are now just The Game Awards and will not be shown live on Spike TV. Instead, the 2014 VGAs Game Awards show will take place live in Las Vegas and will be streamed via Twitch. The Game Awards will feature world premieres/game announcements, musical performances and “other surprises.”
Honestly, if you look at the list of the 2014 Game Awards nominees, I’m a little skeptical about the true value of winning. I mean, Assassin’s Creed: Unity nominated for ANYTHING is a travesty in itself. And, the best shooter of the year category includes Destiny and Wolfenstein: The New Order — yikes. Still, we’re excited to watch the award show, if not only for the world premieres.
