‘Resident Evil 7: Biohazard’ Gets a Terrifying New Trailer

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is one of the most anticipated horror games in recent years, as the reveal at Sony’s E3 conference this year was incredibly well received. After players got a chance to play a demo of this upcoming title, we are finally given a trailer and information that can give a little more context to this game.

In the official Capcom press released, we are told that Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will take place in Dulvey, Louisiana and focus around Jack and Marguerite Baker. Their family has mysteriously disappeared and it’s up to the player to explore a desolate plantation for answers. From the trailer alone we can determine that this plantation is surrounded by swampland and is clearly inhabited by some sort of woman that stalks the player. However, the footage shown was rather light on anything that could truly distinguish this as a game in the Resident Evil series.

Now the new direction is interesting, but so far this seems like a game riding off of the success and popularity of Konami’s P.T. demo. Even the woman chasing you has a distinct similarity near the end of the footage, so it will be curious what other elements will be added into this game. We already know that Green Herbs, a Resident Evil staple, will be an in-game item, but that seems to be the closest connection to the series so far.

Hopefully, we will learn more in the coming months about what we can expect and how this links to the other Resident Evil games. Who knows, maybe it was Albert Wesker the whole time since nothing’s truly dead in this game series.

Resident Evil 7: Biohazard is set to release on January 24, 2017, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
