Today a press release was sent out by developer Blizzard about their yearly event Blizzcon and the opening week competitions that will take place during. While the main conferences and eSports tournaments start on November 4, there will competitive events starting on October 26 and running until the 31. These events are not only to help determine which teams make it to the main stage, but are helped to give all of Blizzard’s lineup a fair amount of time.
However, the biggest event is obviously going to be the Overwatch World Cup and the 16 teams that are participating in this fight. Knockout rounds have already started and certain teams like the United States and China have already been waved through to the main event. If you are looking to watch any competitive Blizzard matches, these may be some of the best you will see all year. Here is the complete schedule for the opening weekend, along with the dates and times for each game.
World of Warcraft Arena:
- October 28 – 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time
Heroes of the Storm:
- October 26 – 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time
- October 27 – 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time
- October 28 – 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time
Overwatch:
- October 29 – 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time
- October 30 – 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time
- October 31 – 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time
Hearthstone:
- October 26 – 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time
- October 27 – 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time

- October 29 – 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time
- October 30 – 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time
Starcraft II:
- October 27 – 8:30 a.m. Pacific Time

You can watch all of the Opening Week events at Blizzcon.com, along with the actual conference and main stage events. With the exception of the Overwatch World Cup all other events contain a prize pool, two of which (Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm) have one million dollars available to players. Other events like Starcraft II and World of Warcraft have far smaller prize pools, with the former capping off at $500,000 and the latter reaching up to $250,000.
