‘Pokemon Go’ Nest Changes: What Spawns Are Different?

Pokemon Go has just seen another major nest migration.

These nests in Pokemon Go are areas in the real world where massive amounts of the same type of Pokemon spawn. When the spawns “migrate,” they shift from outputting one species to outputting another, so overnight a nest might go from spawning Charmander to spawning Squirtle. Several times now, just about every single nest in the game has been changed all at once, and one of those big changes occurred on September 26th.

There’s never any official list of changes released by Niantic, so players just have to get out there and observe for themselves the effect of the migration. But we know a bit about the new changes courtesy of the folks over at The Silph Road, a Pokemon Go Reddit community.

They’ve discovered that many notable nests have changed, including Central Park in New York City, which used to spawn Nidoran-m but now spawns Sandshrew. At the same time, some nests have remained the same, while some have actually disappeared entirely. Other nests have even had their output replaced by the evolved version of that Pokemon, with some Charmander nests, for example, now spawning Charizard instead.

However, it seems that this is the most significant nest migration yet, with most if not all of the nests in the game experiencing some sort of adjustment.

There’s some speculation that the changes have been randomized this time. In the past, it was easy to pin down all of the migrations so that if you had a nest that spawned X, it would now definitely spawn Y. But in this case, everyone around the world is seeing their spawns shifting in slightly different ways. But via The Silph Road, here are some (not all!) of the changes that have been reported so far. Highlighted in bold are the migrations that were observed by several trainers.
