List of PS Plus Free Games for October Includes ‘Resident Evil’, ‘Transformers: Devastation’

PlayStation has revealed their lineup for PlayStation Plus free games for October.

Each month, PlayStation offers their PS Plus subscribers a small selection of free games for download that typically includes two games each for PS4, PS3, and Vita. This month’s selection includes the HD remake of the original Resident Evil, one of the games that helped pioneer the survival horror genre, and a Transformers game that will have a lot of nostalgic value for fans of the original TV series. There are also a couple interesting-looking visual novels for Vita owners.

See the full list of free games below, and stay tuned to Heavy.com for all your gaming news.

  • Resident Evil (PS4): You can get the remastered version of the game that started it all for free next month. Players have the option to play as either Jill Valentine or Chris Redfield, part of a special forces team sent to investigate a series of bizarre murders on the outskirts of Raccoon City. They become trapped in a nearby mansion and must fight for their survival against zombie-like beings, who are infected with what is known as the T-virus. It’s the perfect survival horror game for the Halloween season.
  • Transformers: Devastation (PS4): In this action hack and slash game, players will control one of five Autobots: Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Wheeljack, or Grimlock. Each can utilize a variety of unique attacks, as well as transform into vehicle mode at any time, to battle Decepticons and Insecticons and save the world from Megatron.
  • Mad Riders (PS3): This off-road ATV racing game features 45 tracks and five different racing modes, with multiplayer races for up to twelve players. Earn experience points for completed races and stunts to unlock new vehicles and color schemes.
  • From Dust (PS3): Assume godlike powers to aid the survival of a small tribe of people as they struggle to rebuild their lost civilization in From Dust. Use your control over the natural elements to help protect the tribespeople from the harsh environment and natural disasters such as tsunamis and earthquakes, all while shaping their surroundings as you see fit in this sandbox nature simulation that was first released in 2011.
  • Code: Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~ (PS Vita): This is a visual novel exclusively for PS Vita, set in Victorian Era London, in which you play as a beautiful girl with a deadly touch isolated in an abandoned mansion on the outskirts of the city. Locate her missing father and unravel the secrets of her past with the help of five classic literary figures in this highly-rated steampunk adventure.
  • Actual Sunlight (PS Vita): The official site for Actual Sunlight describes it as a “short interactive story about love, depression and the corporation”. It’s a very text-heavy, linear story with minimal gameplay in which you follow a young professional named Evan Winter as he battles with severe loneliness and depression.
