A special Thanksgiving event is on its way to Pokemon Go. For a certain window of time, players will receive double XP and Stardust, but what exactly is that window? When does the event begin and end?

As Niantic announced today, the Thanksgiving event will begin on Wednesday, November 23rd, the day before Thanksgiving, and it will conclude one week later on Wednesday, November 30th. Specifically, it will begin at exactly 00:00 UTC on November 23rd and end at exactly 00:00 UTC on November 30th. Click here to find out what 00:00 UTC converts to in your local time zone.

Niantic unveiled their first Pokemon Go special event last month for Halloween, and it was a huge success, drawing many players back to the game as the app’s popularity was beginning to wane. Clearly the company was happy with the result, rolling out another event so soon after.

Trainers will be able to net a massive amount of XP during Thanksgiving week just by playing the game as they normally would, as basic functions like catching or evolving a Pokemon give you a decent amount of XP. What’s unclear, though, is how this bonus will apply to Lucky Eggs, items which already double the amount of XP gained for 30 minutes. Will activating a Lucky Egg during the Thanksgiving event allow you to earn quadruple XP? If so, that’s certainly something everyone will want to take advantage of.

Needless to say, though, if you have any Pokemon that are almost ready to evolve, you’ll want to hold off until Wednesday in order to gain the most XP possible.
