In the newest update to Pokemon Go, over 80 new Pokemon have been added to the game, but in addition to that, trainers can now customize their avatars with new clothing and accessories.

To customize your trainer’s look, first click on the avatar button on the bottom left of the screen. Next, hit the button on the bottom right of the screen with the three horizontal lines. Then hit the “style” icon, and you’ll be taken to the avatar customization screen.

From here, you can customize your trainer with hats, glasses, tops, bags, gloves, bottoms, socks and footwear. Some of these accessories come free, but the majority of them must be purchased using Poke Coins. You can get coins by buying them using real money, or you can get them by placing a Pokemon at a friendly gym and then receiving a coin bonus once every 24 hours.

The following accessories can be added to your avatar for free: Visor 1, Hoodie 3, Hoodie 4, Hoodie 5, Hoodie 6, Backpack 1, Gloves 1, Shorts 1, Socks 1, Shoes 1.

Most accessories allow you to change their color, so simply click the accessory to pull up the color bar. Then select the color you want, at which point a pink “Exchange” button will come up on screen. Click that button, and you purchase the item in question.

If the selection here seems a bit sparse, don’t worry; Niantic plans to add more to the game soon, as you can see in the album below:
