‘Injustice 2’: How to Perform a Stage Transition

Injustice 2 Joker

There are a lot of different techniques and abilities you will need to master when playing Injustice 2, but one of the most flashy are stage transitions. These cinematic attacks allow players to throw enemies through walls, windows, or off ledges which cause both fighters to end up in an entirely new arena. Doing this not only allows players to enjoy one of Injustice 2’s visually striking moments, but also deal a hefty amount of damage to an enemy’s health bar.

Stage transitions are located only on the sides of the screen and cannot be performed anywhere else in that specific arena. This means you will need to force an enemy into a corner and then perform the specific attack to send them to the next arena during a fight. Remember some stages only have transitions on one side, which means if you perform a heavy attack and they just bounce off the wall then there is no stage transition on that side.

To actually perform a stage transition you will need to use Back + X (PlayStation 4) or Back + A (Xbox One) to begin the stage transition. If you are successful, time will slow down for a brief moment and you will see them rocket off the stage. This will trigger the cinematic where you cannot do anything until both fighters are moved to the next screen. Some of these stage transitions feature fun easter eggs in Injustice 2, such as Killer Croc’s cameo in the Batcave stage.

Try to use stage transitions at the end of a combo to maximize damage, otherwise, you are wasting an opportunity to juggle a foe who’s in the corner. This is just one of the many tools t your disposal in a fight, so don’t feel obligated to perform a stage transition if it doesn’t benefit you. Keeping someone effectively stun lockedĀ is sometimes a much better option in Injustice 2.
