The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: When Does The Master Trials DLC Unlock?

The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild

Nintendo

The first DLC pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild releases tomorrow. The pack is called the Master Trials and includes a bevy of new items and things to do in the world of Hyrule.

We have new armor coming in the form of the Majora’s Mask, Midna’s Helmet, Korok Mask, Phantom Armor and Tingle’s Outfit. Each item will have a different purpose to serve in the game.

  • Tingle Armor Set Bonus: Night Speed Up
  • Phantom Armor: No Set Bonus
  • Midna Helmet: Guardian Resistance Up
  • Majora’s Mask: Makes it harder for certain enemies to spot you
  • Korok Mask: Shakes when you’re near a Korok

Our favorite addition is the Travel Medallion. You will find a chest somewhere in the world that has the medallion inside. When you get it, you will be able to register your current location as a fast travel point on the map. Unfortunately, you can only register one location at a time but it’s better than nothing.

We also have the addition of a hard mode, called Master Mode, and we have learned that it will operate with a different save slot entirely so you don’t have to worry about overwriting anything. We also have the Trial of the Sword, which takes us back to where we got the Master Sword. Players have to put the sword back and go into this 45-room trial with no items. Completing the trial will cause the Master Sword’s power to remain at 60 all the time, instead of only in the presence of Guardians and Ganon.

Hero’s Path will reveal everywhere you’ve been on the map and everywhere you haven’t been. It will record up to 200 hours of gameplay and shows everywhere you have died.

If you already know all of this, you’re probably wondering how soon you’ll get to try out all of these new features. Luckily, the Master Trials will receive a midnight release, according to GameSpot.

The Master Trials unlock times are tonight at 12 a.m. ET/ 9 p.m. PT. Unfortunately, we don’t have an exact unlock time for our friends across the world. It’s possible it could unlock everywhere at the same time but we can’t confirm for sure.

The second DLC pack is named Champion’s Ballad and it could have something to do with the brand new line of Champion amiibo Nintendo unveiled at E3. It is included with the Expansion Pass but we have no word yet on a release date.

What will you be doing first with the new DLC? Let us know in the comments below and we’ll see you in Hyrule!
